What tests are included free?
We offer a test for hardness, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), chlorine and iron.
Do you test for anything else?
Yes, there are times when further tests are required to determine specific well water problems. There may be a nominal cost involved depending on the test required.
How to Prepare Your Water Samples
- Determine how many of the following samples are needed.
Untreated Water: Used to determine if your softener is set properly and for chlorine testing. Draw this sample from the outside faucet or any inside faucet that bypasses the softener.
Soft Hot Water: Used to determine if your softener is working intermittently. Draw this sample from any hot water faucet.
Soft Cold Water: Used to determine if your softener is currently working. Draw this sample from any cold water faucet that provides soft water. The laundry sink is the best choice.
Purified Water: Used to determine if your reverse osmosis, distiller or drinking water system is working properly. We also suggest you also bring a sample of tap water (soft or hard) for comparison purposes.
- Fill a clean glass or plastic bottle that will hold at least 2 cups or 500ml of water. Pop bottles and water bottles work great.
- Label each bottle with your name and type of sample.
- Bring the samples into one of our retail stores within 2-3 days of taking the samples.
